Challenge


To deliver two new public viewing platforms at the Port of Auckland’s Mahanihani / Manukau South Head site, the project required effective management of procurement, contractor engagement, and construction delivery within a remote location.

The key challenge was ensuring the project was delivered efficiently while coordinating contractors and stakeholders from a distance, maintaining quality outcomes, achieving value for money, and minimising impacts on the surrounding environment and community.


Ramek's Role


  • Project management of the viewing platform delivery from procurement through to completion

  • Development and management of a robust contractor procurement and selection process

  • Review and assessment of contractor submissions, pricing, capability, and delivery approach

  • Application of practical engineering knowledge to support informed project decisions

  • Contractor coordination and construction progress management

  • Stakeholder management and communication with Port of Auckland representatives

  • Programme, cost, and quality management

  • Monitoring of construction activities and verification of works against project requirements

  • Identification and resolution of delivery issues to maintain project progress
